    This is the hardware in my desktop computer:

    • Motherboard: GIGABYTE GA-MA780G-UD3H (780G chipset, ATI Radeon HD 3200 on-board, although I’m not using it)
    • CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 5600 (Dual 2.9GHz cores, 2x512K L2, 65W)
    • Video card: Radeon HD 4870 1GB (My first PCIe x16 card!)
    • Memory: G.SKILL 4GB DDR2 (1066 MHz, dual-channel, CAS 5)
    • Hard drive: Western Digital Caviar WD6400AAKS (640GB, 7200 RPM, SATA 3Gb)
    • DVD-ROM: Hitachi GD-2500
    • DVD±RW: NEC ND-3550A
    • Screen: Hyundai L90D+ (19″ LCD)
    • Case: Fong Kai 603

    Timeline:

    • Late 1999 – Purchased Fong Kai 603 case. It housed my Athlon 800 desktop for almost five years.
    • 21 Dec 2005 – Got the LCD screen as a gift.
    • 19 Feb 2006 – Purchased power supply from CompUSA.
    • 27 Feb 2006 – Ordered DVD±RW from NewEgg
    • 21 Dec 2008 – Given “permission to build a new desktop” as birthday gift.
    • 3 Mar 2009 – Ordered motherboard, CPU, memory, video card, and hard drive for new Athlon 64 X2 machine from NewEgg.
