Return of the King Extended Edition info:

    Release date: December 14
Pre-ordering starts: October 1 (This Friday)
Movie length: 4 hours, 10 minutes
    More information here

Update 09-28: The Fellowship of the Ring Extended Edition is 208 minutes. The Two Towers Extended Edition is 208 231 minutes. The Return of the King Extended Edition is 250 minutes. 208 + 208 + 250 = 666 minutes. Update update: IMDB and Amazon disagree about Two Towers' runtime. I'd be likely to agree with IMDB, though, so that means the symbolism is broken. Oh well!

I finally saw Terminator 3 last night. I had heard mixed reviews of it when it first came out, and I was not expecting anything more than a decent action movie. I was pleasantly surprised. I thought that it was very well incorporated into the greater timeline of the series.

Looking up some trivia online, though, people can't seem to decide what the model number of the Schwarzenegger Terminators are. I've seen "T-101", "T-800", and "T-801". The proper series number is "T-800". Although the HTML is terrible, eterminator.com has a great reference on the Terminator models, taking information from all three movies, the T2-3D ride, and all of the novel-ifications.

New Line has yet to announce an official release date for the Extended Edition of Return of the King, but the rumor is that it'll be December, and the exact date will be announced in the next couple of weeks.

More interestingly, here is an incredibly long list of the added scenes. Spoilery if you don't want to know what's going to be in it, but let me say this: wow. Almost every single major and minor scene that I missed will be included. This is going to be an amazing movie.

Despite the fact that God closed the book on the View Askewniverse at the end of "Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back" (ignoring the inconvenient and short-lived existence of the Clerks cartoon series for the moment), it is being reported that Kevin Smith is working on a Clerks sequel (ignoring the inconvenient existence of Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, and JaSBSB). Filming is set to start in January, and it looks like the important core cast is all set to return. Based on this quote from Smith, I have hopes that it'll be Clerks or Mallrats quality, not JaSBSB quality: "The whole process [of making the Clerks DVD] reminded me why I got into the film biz in the first place: to make talky, low-budget comedies."

Long, but fantastic trailer for a movie that won't exist: Grayson. Years after Batman's death, Dick Grayson returns to his role as Robin to find the killer. Fanfilm at its finest, and it only cost Untamed Cinema $18,000 to make.

Movies that take place in an alternate timeline are dangerous, especially when DC Comics is trying to jumpstart a new series in their Universe.

Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy teaser trailer. Lots of mirrors in the discussion, but the official link worked for me. This is going to be the best movie ever made, no matter how bad it is.

Okay, so The Bourne Supremacy was pretty damn good. It sustained the atmosphere and intensity of the first one, and the story was done in such a way that it didnt feel like "another movie with the same characters", like some sequels tend to. I enjoyed it enough that I decided to look into the books a little. Sadly, the books appear to be critically poor (especially the third one, The Bourne Ultimatum). But reading through the synopsis of the second book, it looks like the storyline was totally changed. So the third movie, if it's made, has hope.
